The whip contest made a terrific comeback at the NIGHT of the JUMPS in 2013 with new title sponsor ROCKWELL Watches. The side contest has returned to its former glory, and fans leap out of their seats cheering every time riders get their bikes as twisted as possible.

There have been nine different winners in the twelve contests staged so far this season. All-American boy Rich Kearns has triumphed twice, winning both ROCKWELL Watch whip contests held at the NIGHT of the JUMPS in Berlin. Fellow American Brody Wilson achieved two victories in Hamburg. German rider Kai Haase has also twice secured the top rung of the whip podium, once in the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship opener in Kaunas, and then subsequently on the second day of the NIGHT of the JUMPS in Basel. Maxime Grégoire (FRA), Bianconcini (ITA), Chris Brock (GBR), Maikel Melero (ESP), James Carter (USA) and Dany Tores (ESP) were also Masters of the Whip in 2013, each of them winning a ROCKWELL champions watch.

Unlike the whip contest at the X Games, there is no fan voting via social media sites in the NIGHT of the JUMPS whip contest, instead, winners are decided by top-class judges. So, it is the best whips that count in the NIGHT of the JUMPS and not a large fan base, and we can’t wait to see who will finish on the ROCKWELL Best Whip podium at the remaining NIGHT of the JUMPS in Riga, Prague and Sofia.
