Libor Podmol just became the first non – American rider to win X Games Step Up! On a previously unseen Yamaha 450f, as opposed to his usual choice of a YZ250, the Czech rider rode with real heart and balls to be the only rider to clear the bar at 29.00 ft, on a particularly challenging jump. Many of the favourites and Step Up veterans were really struggling with the soft, rutted take-off, but Podmol managed to put in all on the line and hold on to the bike on both of his heavy landings to claim the Gold.
